Neda is a voice that travelled from the rooftops of a wounded nation,
She is an idea, who lives in our hearts and minds,
You cannot hurt her by hurting us, nor can you kill her by killing us,
You can torture and weaken us but you only strengthen her,
You can erase every mention of her in books and punish anybody who speaks her name, but it is inside our souls that she cocoons and spreads strength,
She is patient and resolute,
You can wage your war for a thousand years and for a thousand years she will live safely within us,
But one day – and that day will come – a spark will ignite the fire in every one of us and no amount of force could shield you from answering:
Where is our sister? Why did you take her? What was her crime?
